La Crema Pinot Noir Wine Tasting [23]

Name: La Crema Pinot Noir
Variety: Pinot Noir
Region: Monterey, California
Country: USA
Year: 2016
Price: $23

La Crema Review: Aromas of black plum, cherry, RHUBARB and hints of EARTH and loam. Flavors of red plum and BLOOD ORANGE are underpinned by distinctive riverstone MINERALITY and savory UMAMI character. Plush and richly textured with juicy yet balanced acidity and integrated toasty barrel spice

My Review: This wine was probably my favorite of the five I tasted this week. Aromas I detected consisted of dark fruits like black cherry, blackberry, black and red currants, and plum. This wine had a much deeper aroma to it. It smelled earthy, spicy, and complex. When tasting the wine I was able to pick up on flavors of black cherry, vanilla, and plum. This wine had a much heavier mouth feel and a much longer finish. The flavors that stayed on the pallet were those of earthy spices. I could imagine pairing this wine with a heavier steak would be great
